Could Your Physical Health be Affecting Your Mental Health?

I don’t know how many times people have come to me feeling down and anxious, with little enthusiasm for life and it turns out they have Adrenal Fatigue or Pyrole Disorder or something equally unheard of by your regular GP’s.

There’s also a whole heap of research coming out about the microbiome – the universe of bacteria etc that live in your gut – and how that affects your mental health. Anything from anxiety and depression to forgetfulness and foggy headedness.

I’ll be honest, I’m no expert on these conditions so you would have to go see a Holistic GP for a diagnosis. But I can tell you that looking after your physical health makes a load of difference to your mental health.

I’m telling you this because I believe it’s hard enough doing psychological work without having physical stuff dragging you down too.

Think of it like this: sometimes with psychological health it can be like being underwater and trying to swim to the surface. If you have any physical health challenges it’s like trying to swim to the surface with an anchor wrapped firmly around your legs.

I don’t want you to have to work that hard when you come and see me.

Your body is one big feedback loop. If something is wrong in one area it’s likely to affect how you feel and think….. which makes the thing that was wrong worse…. which increases the mood and thought disturbance….. which makes the thing worse ……and around and around it goes.

I know what this feels like. I had quite severe Adrenal Fatigue some time ago. I’d visit regular doctors, telling them I’d been horribly anxious and soooooo tired I could cry which made them think I was depressed. They’d tell me I had too much on my plate and that I should consider medication. I finally found a GP who recognised Adrenal Fatigue and with the right supplements and micro-current sessions with the amazing Kim Boyd (physiotherapist in Worongary – best ever) I came good. My anxiety went away and I wasn’t so tired I could cry. And as my health improved so did my mood. And the more happy I was, the more energetic I felt.

I know you want to look after your mental health or you wouldn’t be reading this. I want to make sure you look after your physical health too.

There are two supplements that I won’t live without now – even if I’m really healthy. You can find them here:

A super potent probiotic https://www.modere.com.au/productdetail/probiotic to keep your guts happy and

A drink to replace the minerals that the stress of daily life leeches from your body https://www.modere.com.au/productdetail/natural-mineral-drink

Check them out and see what you think. You can order them online if you think they’re for you. If you want a discount here’s a code you can enter at checkout 165428.
